Here are photos from the "For The Children" demonstration. The demonstration went from Russell Square to Whitehall. Before it set off, various chants were sang the one that stood out to me the most was "Kier Starmers a wanker" something that I found funny as people at more left wing protests have sang similar. Some of the other chants were "we want our country back" and "Allah, Allah, who the fuck is Allah" among others. It set off at ten to one. However, I only ended up going along with the protest for a few minutes as an "Anti Fascist Action" counter demonstration appeared, which then got kettled. Before I went off to picture that a glass was thrown in the direction of police and journalists, which made me feel a bit on edge. However, I did go to the end of the route. However, I arrived once it had ended. I was approached by three protesters at the end of the demonstration, one who had got a bit agitated with me in the past when I pictured him he started by calling me a dirty lefty and asked why I was doing it but towards the end we ended up having a very useful conversation about the subject of immigration and other issues and while we didn't agree outright we did find a middle ground on some talking points or a better understanding of each other's views and we found the irony on how both sides see each other in the same way. This genuinely makes me believe more and more that the left and right share more in common than centrists share with each side.
