Hello, my name is Alex Day, I am known on social media as Road Runner Photography. I am a young person with a passion for photojournalism. I am based in the South East of England and grew up in London.
What Got Me Into Photojournalism
Growing up in London I would often see political posters and see protesters around the capital. So, I started to do my research on the subject as an early teen which quickly turned into an interest in politics. This has continued as I have grown and can now be seen in my work. I plan to keep this up and ideally get a job in the world of photojournalism. Since picturing my first protest in early 2024, I have had a passion for photojournalism. I find that in a world of ever changing politics it is very easy to miss things or be told fake or biased news. so, I take it upon myself to do my part and document life as it happens from a view of someone that is not directly associated with any news or political organisation.
What Camera I Use
The camera I use is a Cannon 2000D with a stock 18-55MM lens, although I am looking at getting a second camera and eventually a telephoto lens for some of the shots I cannot get up close for. But for now what I have more than does the job.
How I Got The Name Road Runner
I got the name road runner from the fact that during protests I am often running around in the middle of the road trying to get the pictures I want. I wish there was more to it but that is the reason why but that is it.
